Hello, everybody! I hope your week thus far is amazing! Lipstick is one of my favorite makeup products and I wanted to share some that I’ve bought recently. I’ve been using all these products for a while so I’ll give you guys a mini review of each. Let me know if you have tried any of these products and which ones you like. Also, make sure to give me some suggestions of new products to try.
Bite Beauty-The perfect pair Amuse Bouche lipstick: These two bite beauty lipsticks came in a duo set. The first shade is called Thistle which is a purple taupe color. The one next to it is rhubarb which is a nice rose color. I really enjoy both these lipsticks. They sit nice on the lips and the colors are nice. I also enjoy the minty smell they have. I got this mini pair at Sephora for $15. There is another mini duo in the shades meringue and fig.
Lime Crime velvetine in faded: I have always wanted to try the lime crime velvetines but have heard bad things about ordering off their website. Lime crime ended up going on sale on Hautelook. If you don’t know what Hautelook is, it’s a Nordstrom-owned website that has flash sales. The velvetines were only $10 so I figure I could get one. I’m honestly a little disappointed, The first time I wore it, it was very sticky and a little patchy. I also feel like mine came not full. I would totally try another one but I’m gonna wait for them to come back on HauteLook. The shaded faded is very similar to Bite beauty in thistle. It’s not on HauteLook right now but you can still check this out on Lime Crime’s website.
Wet and Wild Liquid Catsuit in Pink Really Hard: I have heard amazing things about these liquid lipsticks! For some reason, I was really drawn to this bright pink color, which is not like me. I have to say that they hype is true with these. They feel nice on the lips and last a reasonable amount of time. It is a little patchy but could just be this color. I got this at Target for $4.99
E.L.F. gel lip stain in dewy berry- This lip stain is part of their aqua line and I love the blue lid. This lip stain is infused with rose water and vitamin E. So it should be really hydrating on the lips. I feel like this is actually pretty drying. But if you put some chapstick on throughout the day, it’s not too bad. The color is really nice for every day. I definitely want to get some more of these. I got this at Target for $3.99.
Too Faced Sweet Peach lipgloss in pure peach- I have wanted to try these for so long! For some reason, I am very drawn towards the mono color packaging. I used to hate lipgloss but wanted to try some better lipglosses. After trying these, I want to try more lipglosses. This is not very stick and is actually really hydrating. The color is really nice also. I dig the fake peach smell but other people may not like it. I really want the color, papa don’t peach. I got this at Sephora for $19.
Don’t forget to let me know if you’ve tried any of these. Also if you guys have any color suggestions for Lime Crime, let me know. Have a great week and I will see you Saturday!
Hello, Everybody! How is your February going? Taxes came in so that means that I had a mini treat yo’ self day. I don’t really get to buy high-end products often because I’m on a tight college budget, but I allowed myself to splurge a little. I picked up a few things that were on my wishlist and I’m currently loving everything! I will do more in-depth posts about each product but these are just my first impressions. Let me know if you guys have tried any of these products, and what you think of them.
Smashbox Cover Shot: Smoky- This was the first thing that I for sure knew I was going to buy. There are 8 different palettes within the Cover Shot line. I picked up the smoky one because there’s a green shade that I love in it. These eyeshadows are great! I don’t really hear much about these palettes but I would say they are worth it. It comes with 8 shades: 2 big bases and 6 smaller shades. The base colors are a little chalky but overall good. I want to get a couple more of these palettes. This was $29 at Sephora.
Too Faced Sweet Peach Peach Oil Lipgloss- I don’t normally like lipgloss but I have been wanting to branch out of my comfort zone. I am very happy with this purchase. There’s a lot of people who don’t like the artificial peach smell but I don’t mind it. I think this would be really great over nude lipsticks because it’s not super pigmented. I have the shade pure peach but I really want papa don’t peach. This was $19 at Sephora.
Benefit Cheek and Lip Stain Trio- These really aren’t talked about anymore but I really wanted to try them. This is honestly a great deal too. Each bottle is 4 mL, which means you get 12 mL in total for $18. A full-size bottle is $30 and you get 12.5mL. So for $10 less you get almost the same amount of product with a bigger variety. Of course, if you don’t like one of the colors then it isn’t worth it. I like all of the colors, and I feel like I’m not going to go through these very fast. I think they also have a trio like this for their liquid highlighters. If you want to check out the tint trio it is at Ulta.
Tarteist Pro Glow To Go- This is such a perfect trio for traveling. I do want the full-size Pro Glow but I just went with the smaller size for now. You get a contour shade and 2 highlights. I have only tried it once but I enjoy all three. The contour looks really warm toned in the pan but looked more cool toned on my face. I got this for $23 at Ulta.

If you read my post about my lip collection you saw me talk about the Too Faced melted liquid lipsticks. I was really disappointed with them. Those lipsticks were so talked up everywhere and they did not meet my expectations. They dried my lips out and were not long lasting like they claimed. If I let them dry down for about an hour they do last a little bit longer but that means not letting anything touch my lips for that time. After buying two of them I decided that I was not going to buy anymore but…. I ended up purchasing another one the other day. This time, I bought the matte formula which is a fairly recent line that they came out with. I had heard from people that this formula was better and lasted much longer. First off, I didn’t think I was going to like the new packaging cause I honestly like the squeezy tube the other ones come in. Yup, I was wrong about that too because I actually like the new packaging. This lipstick claims to have a plumping effect which I didn’t really notice. It is also infused with avocado oil, vitamin E, and hyaluronic spheres. I looked up what hyaluronic spheres are and they are supposed to fill wrinkles and help nourish the skin. As with any product, this had some pros and cons.
It dries really fast- you can eat right after you’re done putting it on
It lasts all day- I didn’t see much fading at all throughout the day
Really easy to apply and very comfortable
It dries really fast- cleaning it up can be kind of hard
It can be really drying but not unbearable
Sometimes it gets flakey
All in all, I would totally recommend this to everyone! I bought this at Sephora for $21. I got the color Who’s Zoomin Who but I want every color. Let me know if you guys have a favorite color in this line and what other liquid lipsticks I should try.
I just recently got into loving lipstick a few years ago. It’s amazing what putting on some lipstick can do. When I wear lipstick, I feel so empowered. So over the past few years, I have been buying lipstick and I wear it a couple times a week. My lipstick collection is still pretty small right now, but I’ll update it every once in a while when I get more. Let me know what your favorite lipstick is so I can try it out.
NYX Extra Creamy Lipstick in shade Snow White- This is probably my favorite lipstick that I own. It has great wearability and is an amazing shade of red. It’s a blue toned red which in my opinion is the best type of red. I got this at Target for around $4.
Ulta Matte Lipstick in shade 251- I tried to look this up on Ulta’s website to find the actual shade name but I don’t think they sell it anymore. This color is a nice rose color with some shimmer. This lipstick also stays on for a pretty great amount of time. I think this was around $8.
Revlon Colorburst Balm Stain in shade Smitten- This is a great deep pink that is also very hydrating for the lips. Both of the Revlon products I’m talking about stay on pretty much the whole day. These lipsticks even pass the burrito test. I bought this at Walmart for around $7.
Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm in shade Sultry- I just did a post about this lipstick so I won’t say much about it on this post. If you want to read about this lipstick, you can click here.
Maybelline Color Sensational Lip Color in shade Blissful Berry- I was kind of disappointed in the color of this lipstick because it isn’t as dark as you would think it would be. The color is very sheer but it is still a great color regardless. This has an ok length of wearability. I got this at Walmart for around $8
Too Faced Melted Lipstick in shade Melted Nude- I had really high expectations because I’ve heard so many people talk about them. I like this shade because it is a nice nude. These lipsticks rub off so easily. They do not stay on well. I don’t think I’ll be buying anymore unless I can figure out how to make it stay on longer. I got this at Ulta for $21.
Too Faced Melted Lipstick in shade Melted Villain- I love this color but it’s the same as what I said above.
Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick in shade Turn On- This color is a really bright pink and is so creamy. The wearability is pretty good but not as good as some of the others I have. It’s really hydrating on the lips also. The original price of this lipstick is $22 but they’re all on sale for 50% off right now. I got mine at Sephora for $11.
Today I decided to test how long the Too Faced Melted liquid lipsticks last. I own both melted nude and melted villain. For today I decided to test melted nude and another time I will test melted villain. I have worn this lipstick before with a primer underneath and it has lasted pretty much the whole day. For this test I wanted to not use any primer so I can see the longevity of the lipstick itself. There was some chapstick already on my lips because my lips were so dry. I applied it pretty late in the day just because I didn’t have school or work today so I slept in.
Am I the only person who eats really weirdly careful when they have lipstick on? When I ate lunch I tried very hard to make sure my lips didn’t touch the fork as to not wipe any of it off. Of course that isn’t entirely realistic though. I have been able to eat a burrito and end up with my lipstick still looking the same. Unfortunately this lipstick didn’t really last during lunch and I wasn’t even eating a burrito.
A little bit after lunch I actually did end up applying just a bit more to help it a little bit. I should have taken another picture between lunch and the end of the day. I was lasting pretty well until I ate some pasta. Let’s be honest though. Not many lipsticks can make it through pasta. By the end of the day I did have a minimal amount of the lipstick on but my lips were in dire need of some lipbalm. I definitely think this lipstick did pretty well on its own and I know that it does well with a primer. There are better liquid lipsticks out there but I would recommend people giving these a try. I enjoy both of the shades I own. Feel free to let me know how you feel about these lipsticks and if there’s anymore you want me to try!
