Wow! It has been a couple months since I have posted on here. I got so busy with school starting and also going through a couple other changes. I was on a pretty good posting schedule and hope to get back to it. I want to talk about this palette that I bought a while ago. I bought one of the NYX ultimate palettes. They come in a couple different colors and I got the warm neutrals shade. Each palette is about $18. I want to get the other shades as well. Very affordable and very good quality. NYX has always been a brand that very rarely disappoints me. All of the products that I’ve tried so far seem to be pretty good. I’ll show you guys some swatches and then give you my overall thoughts.
All of the colors have pretty good pigmentation. I’m surprised at how well the light colors swatch also. Once applied the colors also blend pretty well. Sometimes they blend away a little too easy, but I think I would rather have that than not blend out at all. I also really like the color selection in the palette. I feel like I can get a lot of different looks with this. There is also a good balance between mattes and shimmers. I hate when palettes have almost no mattes. The packaging is also fairly small so you could travel with it if you wanted. I definitely recommend this palette. Go pick it up!
Hello! I recently switched my posting to schedule to Sundays but yesterday was my birthday. I decided to just relax and post today instead. Since yesterday was my birthday I got my birthday goodies from Sephora and Ulta. For Ulta’s gifts, each quarter gets a different gift. For July, August, and September the gift is a NYX birthday palette. I heard a rumor that the last quarter also gets the palette but don’t take my word for it. I was really excited for this palette because I think this is one of the best gifts I’ve ever received from Ulta. The first two-quarters kind of got gypped. The first quarter got a sample size of the porefessional. Which is cool but I feel like everyone has received a sample of that at this point. The second quarter got a sample size mascara. With Sephora, everyone has the opportunity to receive the same gift. There’s a choice between a makeup gift and a skin care gift. I chose the makeup gift.
The Sephora gift is a Tarte makeup set. I haven’t tried either of these products so I was really excited to try them out. The Amazonian clay 12-hour blush in the shade paaarty. The Tarteist creamy matte lip paint is in the shade birthday suit. I love both of the shades and both of the products. The blush does actually last a long time and so does the lipstick. The lipstick is also very comfortable. Now onto the palette.
For the most part, I really enjoy this palette. It has pretty good pigmentation. The lighter shades don’t show up that well. The blend-ability is good also. I like the shades that they chose and the green color is different than any other greens in my collection. I’m really excited to see what different looks I can create with this palette.
Hello, everybody! I hope you all are having a fabulous week so far! I’ve been on vacation this week so I’ve just been relaxing. The other day I took a trip to Sephora to get my birthday gift and picked up a few things as well. I picked up one of the Kat Von D eyeshadow quads because they’re only $22. They come in 3 colors: plum, rust, and sage. I just bought the warm neutrals palette from NYX and I have a couple green colors, so I decided to get plum. There aren’t really any purple shades in my collection so this is a good edition. I think eventually I would love to get the other two. These palettes are great for travel. You can get a couple of simple looks out of the palette. Another thing I love is the packaging. Kat Von D always has great packaging. I’ll show you some pictures and give you my pros and cons on the palette.
-Pigmentation is great
-easy to blend
-can get a couple looks
-base color can be used as a blush
– the two dark colors can sometimes look the same once blended out
-highlight shade doesn’t really show up on my skin tone that well
Hello, everybody! I hope you all are having a wonderful week. Yesterday was the 4th of July, which means we set off a lot of fireworks and ate a lot of food. It was a great day off from work but now it’s back to the real world. Anyway, I have some products that I’ve used that straight up disappointed me.
Ulta Contour Trio- This was the very first thing that I bought when I decided to try contouring. The darkest shade isn’t too bad. The other two don’t have any pigmentation at all. I used it for a while until I got some better highlighters and contouring products. There’s actually a lot of Ulta brand products that I like but this is not one of them.
Ulta Lip Sugar Scrub- The sugar in this scrub is almost nonexistent. That’s all there really is to say about it. It didn’t scrub my lips at all.
E.L.F. Concealer Palette- The color correcting shades in this work really well. I realized that I don’t really like color correcting. It feels like an unnecessary step. The concealer shades are terrible. They don’t conceal all the well and feel heavy on the skin. I love E.L.F. but just not this palette.
Urban Decay Retractable Lipstick Brush- This brush came in the Vice Lipstick Palette. I love this palette and if you want to see my review on it, you can click here. The bristles on this brush completely fell off. I don’t know if it was the way I was cleaning it but I was kind of mad that it fell apart on me.
Pacifica Eyeshadow in Ethereal- I got this eyeshadow in an Ipsy package a very long time ago. It has no pigmentation. It disappears once it’s put on the lid. I’ve heard from other people that Pacifica’s makeup isn’t the best. I enjoy their skincare line though.
Hello, everybody! I hope your week was great and ended well. I’m going to talk about this eyeshadow palette that I have been loving! Is it just me, or have people not really been talking about the cover shot palettes? When Smashbox released these 7 palettes I expected to see a lot of reviews or hear a lot about them. To be honest, I don’t feel like they’ve been talked about really. I decided to pick one up because they’re only $30, which I personally feel is not too bad. There are 8 shadows so it’s about $3.75 per shadow. All the palettes have a moving picture cover. So the powder on the lid looks like it’s being thrown.
What really drew me to this palette was the green color, STFU. Feature, instinct, and slayer are the matte shades in the palette. They feel creamy and aren’t very chalky. Feature definitely can get really powdery when using it but the other two don’t. The rest of the shades are shimmery and don’t seem to have a lot of fall out. I have not got to use big night very much. Honestly, I find the colors easy to work with and they blend easily. I really would like to get some other palettes in the collection. I have not heard the best reviews about the matte palette. I think the next one I’m going to get is the ablaze palette. Let me know if you guys have tried any of the palettes in the collection and if you like it. I hope this next week is amazing for everybody and I will see you Tuesday!

Hello, Everybody! How is your February going? Taxes came in so that means that I had a mini treat yo’ self day. I don’t really get to buy high-end products often because I’m on a tight college budget, but I allowed myself to splurge a little. I picked up a few things that were on my wishlist and I’m currently loving everything! I will do more in-depth posts about each product but these are just my first impressions. Let me know if you guys have tried any of these products, and what you think of them.
Smashbox Cover Shot: Smoky- This was the first thing that I for sure knew I was going to buy. There are 8 different palettes within the Cover Shot line. I picked up the smoky one because there’s a green shade that I love in it. These eyeshadows are great! I don’t really hear much about these palettes but I would say they are worth it. It comes with 8 shades: 2 big bases and 6 smaller shades. The base colors are a little chalky but overall good. I want to get a couple more of these palettes. This was $29 at Sephora.
Too Faced Sweet Peach Peach Oil Lipgloss- I don’t normally like lipgloss but I have been wanting to branch out of my comfort zone. I am very happy with this purchase. There’s a lot of people who don’t like the artificial peach smell but I don’t mind it. I think this would be really great over nude lipsticks because it’s not super pigmented. I have the shade pure peach but I really want papa don’t peach. This was $19 at Sephora.
Benefit Cheek and Lip Stain Trio- These really aren’t talked about anymore but I really wanted to try them. This is honestly a great deal too. Each bottle is 4 mL, which means you get 12 mL in total for $18. A full-size bottle is $30 and you get 12.5mL. So for $10 less you get almost the same amount of product with a bigger variety. Of course, if you don’t like one of the colors then it isn’t worth it. I like all of the colors, and I feel like I’m not going to go through these very fast. I think they also have a trio like this for their liquid highlighters. If you want to check out the tint trio it is at Ulta.
Tarteist Pro Glow To Go- This is such a perfect trio for traveling. I do want the full-size Pro Glow but I just went with the smaller size for now. You get a contour shade and 2 highlights. I have only tried it once but I enjoy all three. The contour looks really warm toned in the pan but looked more cool toned on my face. I got this for $23 at Ulta.

Sprayway glass cleaner
This is not a new product in my life at all but I just remembered how much I love this cleaning product. Do not buy Windex or any of those other window cleaners. This is literally (Chris Traeger voice) the best glass cleaning product of all time. You can buy this pretty much anywhere.
Wet N Wild Contouring Palette
I reviewed this a while back in a drugstore review. I got this at Walgreens for around $4 and it is seriously awesome. First off, you get a lot of product and it lasts all day. The contour shade is great for my skin tone. The highlight shade isn’t really much of a highlight but it is great for setting my undereye concealer.
Loreal Infallible Eyeshadow
My last post was a review of this product and I love it. If I wasn’t trying to branch out on my makeup collection then I would go buy this in every color. This has amazing pigmentation and lasts forever. This shade of green is also a very wearable shade to incorporate into every day.
Tarte Maracuja Oil
I bought this a while ago but I didn’t really see a difference when using it. For some reason, my skin was very dry this month so I pulled this out. This was so good for my skin. It basically fixed my dry skin. I don’t think I’m going to use this every day and just pull it out when I need it.
The Good Girl by Mary Kubica
This book is about a girl who is kidnapped. The story is told from the mother’s, the detective’s, and the kidnapper’s point of view. I love books that are told from different character’s perspective. I also like short chapters which is kind of weird. There’s honestly no explanation for why I like short chapters but this book has those. I haven’t finished it yet but I will write a review when I am done.
