NYX Ultimate Warm Neutrals

NYX Ultimate Warm Neutrals

Wow! It has been a couple months since I have posted on here. I got so busy with school starting and also going through a couple other changes. I was on a pretty good posting schedule and hope to get back to it. I want to talk about this palette that I bought a while ago. I bought one of the NYX ultimate palettes. They come in a couple different colors and I got the warm neutrals shade. Each palette is about $18. I want to get the other shades as well. Very affordable and very good quality. NYX has always been a brand that very rarely disappoints me. All of the products that I’ve tried so far seem to be pretty good. I’ll show you guys some swatches and then give you my overall thoughts.

All of the colors have pretty good pigmentation. I’m surprised at how well the light colors swatch also. Once applied the colors also blend pretty well. Sometimes they blend away a little too easy, but I think I would rather have that than not blend out at all. I also really like the color selection in the palette. I feel like I can get a lot of different looks with this. There is also a good balance between mattes and shimmers. I hate when palettes have almost no mattes. The packaging is also fairly small so you could travel with it if you wanted. I definitely recommend this palette. Go pick it up!

L’Oreal Pure Clay Mask| Exfoliating and Refining

L’Oreal Pure Clay Mask| Exfoliating and Refining

Hi, Everybody! I hope everyone had a wonderful week. Today I wanted to talk about a face mask that I have been enjoying. It is on of the L’Oreal pure-clay masks. I picked up the exfoliating and refining mask with red algae. Lately, I’ve been feeling like my skin has been on the dry side so I like the exfoliation. All the masks in this line are made with 3 different kinds of clay. It doesn’t really say anywhere what those clays are. I wish that they made it more obvious on the packaging somewhere of what the clays are. Each different mask is enhanced with something. The one I picked up is enhanced with red algae extract. They also have masks that are enhanced with charcoal and another one enhanced with eucalyptus. L’Oreal has only advertised these 3 in the line but I noticed on their website they have another one that’s blue. The blue one is enhanced with seaweed. I would like to get all of the masks in the line. Apparently, in the red one, the exfoliant is volcanic rock which is pretty cool.

L’Oreal Claims

-“addresses rough skin and deep clogged pores”

– “polished pore-minimized, smooth complexion”

-“refined and smooth skin”

-“imperfections are less visible”

What I’ve noticed

-love the packaging

-skin does look smooth and healthy

-does not help my acne or my pores

So I was a little disappointed that this didn’t do much in terms of cleaning out my pores. However, I do enjoy how healthy my skin looks after I use it. I definitely want to try the other masks and see how wells those work. To be honest I probably won’t buy this one again once it’s empty. I’m sure I can find a mask that makes my skin look and feel the same and also cleans out my pores. Let me know if you guys have had any experiences with these masks and what you feel. If you want to check out the line you can click here. Each mask is about $13. Thank you for hanging out with me and I hope you all have a wonderful week!

Essence Soo Glow!

Essence Soo Glow!

I’ve just recently started getting really into highlighter and bronzer. I saw these two highlighters when I was in target and thought they looked really nice. They are called the Essence Soo Glow! cream to powder highlighter. Cream to powder products blow my mind every time. This highlighter comes in two shades. The first one is look on the bright side which is a champagne color. The other one is called bright up your life which is a pink rose color. I really enjoy these highlighters. If you are going to put powder on your face, you have to put these on before. These do not apply well on top of a powder. They don’t apply smoothly and the break apart. I think they can apply differently on different foundations also. Sometimes I like to apply these on bare skin if I don’t really feel like wearing makeup. I find the best way to apply them is just with my fingers. You can also really build these up if you like an intense glow. That’s really all there is to say about these. I totally recommend picking these up. They are only $3.50 at Target. Let me know if you have tried these before and what you think about them.

NYX Brooklyn Thorn

NYX Brooklyn Thorn

Not only am I obsessed with NYX but I’m also obsessed with lipstick. NYX is one of my favorite drug store brands. NYX has a line of liquid lip creams called liquid suedes. I decided one day to pick up the shade Brooklyn thorn. Brooklyn thorn is a browny, purple shade.  I love this color so much! Another great thing about this line is that they have matching lip liners with the same names. Not a lot of brands do that so I love that they have that option.

Having the lip liner is a really good idea for these because the applicator is kind of a weird one. It’s a big, flat, rounded brush. It’s very hard to get a clean line with the applicator. Honestly, I feel like if you wanted a really matte finish, you could just wear the lip liner. The lipstick does not dry down all the way. I like this because then it isn’t too drying on the lips. It has really great wear time but is not transfer proof. All in all, I would totally recommend buying this. Unfortunately, I feel like you can’t see the purple undertone in the picture. It mostly looks just brown. I want to get a bunch of colors and then do a post about them. Let me know if you guys have a favorite color in the collection that I can try.

Mid 2016 Empties

Mid 2016 Empties

When I am on YouTube I love watching empty product videos. So I thought, ” Why don’t I do something like that?” This post is all the empty products that I have finished this point in the 2016 year.

mid 2016 emptiesBiore Baking Soda Pore Cleanser

This is the liquid version of the baking soda face cleansers. I also have the powder one and I don’t really know what the difference is supposed to be between these two products. The liquid version actually really dried out my skin but the powder version hasn’t. I think this could be because the liquid version has sulfate in it. I will not be repurchasing this.

Maybelline Master Hi-Light Highlighting Bronzer

I bought this when I was first diving into the world of bronzers. It wasn’t just a straight bronzer color. It had colors of pink and highlighting colors included in it. This is really great if you don’t want to actually apply bronzer, blush, and highlight. You can just put this on with one swipe and it’s a great alternative to that. I would repurchase this product.

Ulta Matte Primer

How come nobody talks about Ulta’s line of makeup? They have some great products in their line with this being one of them. One thing that I love about this is that it has salicylic acid which is good for acne. The formula is kind of a gel formula which is something that I don’t particularly like but it makes my foundation stay on all day. I will be repurchasing this.

Ulta Amped Lashes

This mascara is supposed to give you really amped lashes which it does do. However, this product is clumpy and smudges under my eyes by the end of the day. I would not repurchase this.

Tarte Maracuja C-Brighter Eye Treatment

I got this in a set with the maracuja oil which I just featured in my favorites. This eye cream is not something that I like. First off, it is really pricey. Second of all, I did not see a difference in my eyes at all. I will not be repurchasing. Let me know if you guys have an eye cream that you like because I am on the hunt for one that really works.

Lush Tea Tree Toner Water

This is actually already a repurchase but I haven’t mentioned it in a while. This is great for keeping my oil at bay throughout the day. If you have oily skin you need to try this toner. I also love that it’s in a spray bottle so I don’t have to get out a cotton pad. I will be repurchasing again.

93,000 Miles and Whoosh Shower Jellies

I’m grouping these two products together because they’re both shower jellies but different scents. The Lush shower jellies are so much fun and everybody needs one of these in their life. Both of these scents are great and I would repurchase both. I want to try all the scents so I think I’m going to get the pine and needle scent next.

Garnier Micellar Water

Micellar water is an amazing way to remove makeup. It takes off makeup with no problem. This does leave an oily residue but I always wash my face after so I kind of ignore that. I have already repurchased this and I still love it.

Bath and Body Works Wild Apple Daffodil

There isn’t much to say about this lotion. I think everybody pretty much knows that the bath and body works lotions are pretty good lotions. Their normal lotions are all pretty much the same lotion just in different scents. I would not repurchase this scent again, though. It was pretty boring in my opinion. Their pink lemonade scent is my favorite right now.

New Drugstore Products

New Drugstore Products

I am the type of person who does not change her routine. I find a product I like and I stick with it. Because I am still new to makeup and trying to use new things, I decided to go buy some new products and try them. All of these products are from Walgreens and all of them are pretty new to the drugstore except the concealer. I have not actually tried the products out yet. This post is just going to tell you about these products and then I will do a follow up post of my reviews.

First two products I got are from Wet n Wild. They have come out with a lot of cool new stuff. I picked up the MegaGlo contouring palette in the shade dulce de leche. I’ve heard good things about this on YouTube. The website just claims to give you blendable, buildable color. The next thing I picked up is the color icon blush in pearlescent pink. I have never tried the color icon blushes before but this says that it’s a new formula. This color might be a bit pink for me but we’re just going to go for it. The website not only claims that this also has blendable, buildable color but it’s also supposed to be long lasting. I got the contouring palette for 4.99 and the blush for 2.99.

The next two products I picked up are from Covergirl. I first picked up the trublend makeup primer for combination skin. They also have this primer for oily and dry skin. The combo skin primer is meant to “have a balancing formula that creates a smooth surface for perfect foundation application.” Just like any primer they claim that this is supposed to make the foundation last longer. Next, I picked up the trublend fixstick concealer in the shade light. The website claims that this will cover up dark circles and imperfections. It also claims to be very blendable. We’ll see if it’s a match for my gnarly dark circles. I got the primer for 9.99 and the concealer for 9.49.

The last product I picked up is the Maybelline eyestudio lasting drama waterproof gel pencil in sleek onyx. Honestly, I’m surprised that I picked this up because I hate having to sharpen eyeliner pencils. Looking online a lot of people have said that it is impossible to sharpen. Also the website claims that this eyeliner should last for 16 hours and is waterproof. I got this for 8.29. So I am going to try out all these products and make a post later with my reviews. Let me know if you have tried any of these out.

New Favorite Foundation

New Favorite Foundation

I was using an Ulta foundation for the longest time. I thought that I really liked it. It was a great color and stayed on well. As time went on I realized that I hated it. The Ulta foundation I was using was so cakey, and I don’t know how it took me so long to notice. My skin is combination type and with this foundation my skin would start to feel really oily. So the hunt for a new foundation began. I went to Target and kind of just walked around the makeup section when I came across this Revlon foundation. This is the Revlon colorstay foundation. What caught my eye was that it was specifically for oily or combination skin. The bad thing about my Target is that it doesn’t have testers so I kind of just guessed. I ended up getting the shade nude #200. Nude is a little light for me but it’s fixable with a little bit of bronzer. So far I really like this foundation! It applies really nicely. My face doesn’t feel oily and the foundation isn’t too heavy on my skin. This foundation lasts all day and does not cake up at all.  I would very much recommend this foundation. Are there any products you think I should try?foundation
