Hello, everybody! I hope your week was great and ended well. I’m going to talk about this eyeshadow palette that I have been loving! Is it just me, or have people not really been talking about the cover shot palettes? When Smashbox released these 7 palettes I expected to see a lot of reviews or hear a lot about them. To be honest, I don’t feel like they’ve been talked about really. I decided to pick one up because they’re only $30, which I personally feel is not too bad. There are 8 shadows so it’s about $3.75 per shadow. All the palettes have a moving picture cover. So the powder on the lid looks like it’s being thrown.
What really drew me to this palette was the green color, STFU. Feature, instinct, and slayer are the matte shades in the palette. They feel creamy and aren’t very chalky. Feature definitely can get really powdery when using it but the other two don’t. The rest of the shades are shimmery and don’t seem to have a lot of fall out. I have not got to use big night very much. Honestly, I find the colors easy to work with and they blend easily. I really would like to get some other palettes in the collection. I have not heard the best reviews about the matte palette. I think the next one I’m going to get is the ablaze palette. Let me know if you guys have tried any of the palettes in the collection and if you like it. I hope this next week is amazing for everybody and I will see you Tuesday!

I’ve just recently started getting really into highlighter and bronzer. I saw these two highlighters when I was in target and thought they looked really nice. They are called the Essence Soo Glow! cream to powder highlighter. Cream to powder products blow my mind every time. This highlighter comes in two shades. The first one is look on the bright side which is a champagne color. The other one is called bright up your life which is a pink rose color. I really enjoy these highlighters. If you are going to put powder on your face, you have to put these on before. These do not apply well on top of a powder. They don’t apply smoothly and the break apart. I think they can apply differently on different foundations also. Sometimes I like to apply these on bare skin if I don’t really feel like wearing makeup. I find the best way to apply them is just with my fingers. You can also really build these up if you like an intense glow. That’s really all there is to say about these. I totally recommend picking these up. They are only $3.50 at Target. Let me know if you have tried these before and what you think about them.
This past Christmas I bought the Urban Decay Vice Lipstick palette in blackmail. They also have a palette called Junkie, and I hope to purchase that one also. I recently posted a review of this palette which you can check out here. I decided that I wanted to do a post showing the lipsticks on my actual lips. I love this palette so much. I use this all the time and I’m honestly afraid of actually running out. The bottom row, with the nudes, are my favorite shades in this palette. I apologize for some of the picture quality and the last swatch looks really bad. Let me know which color you love the best!
Sheer Shame and Firebird
Big Bang and Disobedient
EZ and Firebird(Kind of hard to tell a difference in these photos. Firebird is matte and EZ is not)
Vanished and 1993
Ex-Girlfriend and Amulet
Conspiracy and Blackmail
Honestly, I have actually been looking for these blotting sheets for over a year and it’s ridiculous. I saw grav3yard girl talk about these on her channel a long time ago. I walked into Target and they had a new huge E.L.F selection. I still can’t find their beauty sponge, though. The main reason I wanted them was because of the packaging. First off, it’s a plastic case that actually snaps closed. A lot of blotting sheets have cardboard packaging that folds close. Then it starts to break and everything falls out. There is also a mirror in the lid which always comes in handy. The coolest part of these blotting sheets is the applicator sponge that comes with it. It has a sticky side that helps pick up the sheets so you don’t pick them up with your fingers. One thing that I didn’t know about these is that they’re “infused with translucent powder.” It think that’s so cool because then it kind of helps reset your makeup. These were only $5 and there isn’t much more to say about these, but I totally recommend going and buying them.
Not only am I obsessed with NYX but I’m also obsessed with lipstick. NYX is one of my favorite drug store brands. NYX has a line of liquid lip creams called liquid suedes. I decided one day to pick up the shade Brooklyn thorn. Brooklyn thorn is a browny, purple shade. I love this color so much! Another great thing about this line is that they have matching lip liners with the same names. Not a lot of brands do that so I love that they have that option.
Having the lip liner is a really good idea for these because the applicator is kind of a weird one. It’s a big, flat, rounded brush. It’s very hard to get a clean line with the applicator. Honestly, I feel like if you wanted a really matte finish, you could just wear the lip liner. The lipstick does not dry down all the way. I like this because then it isn’t too drying on the lips. It has really great wear time but is not transfer proof. All in all, I would totally recommend buying this. Unfortunately, I feel like you can’t see the purple undertone in the picture. It mostly looks just brown. I want to get a bunch of colors and then do a post about them. Let me know if you guys have a favorite color in the collection that I can try.
This is a very late post, but I forgot that I had these products hidden away. I do not really go through a lot of products, but here’s what I went through in the last half of 2016.
Neutrogena body clear body wash- Let’s be honest we all get body acne from time to time. It happens to be a problem I deal with and I feel like this worked very well for that.
- Would I rebuy? Already have
Pantene 3 minute miracle conditioner- This is supposed to be like a daily hair mask for your hair. Honestly, I didn’t really notice a difference from normal conditioner.
Revlon colorstay foundation for combination/oily skin- I really liked this foundation. The shade was good for me and it sat nicely on my skin. I also happen to enjoy that there is SPF in this.
- Would I rebuy? Yes, I want to go repurchase this.
Suave Keratin dry shampoo- I did not like this dry shampoo. It really didn’t feel like it did anything for my hair.
Briogeo Don’t Despair, repair hair mask- I received this in an ipsy bag, so this is a sample. Honestly, I don’t feel like I used this enough to form an actual opinion on it. I watch a person on YouTube who raves about this.
Essence say no to dark circle- This is the very first color corrector that I have tried. I think it works ok. I want to try other color correctors but this one is only $3.
- Would I rebuy? already have
Pure Brazilian miracle leave-in conditioner- I really liked this on my hair! I love spray this on my ends to help with frizziness. I want to try other leave-in conditioners to see what else I like.
Urban Decay perversion mascara- This was another product I received in an Ipsy bag. I love receiving sample mascaras because It gives me the chance to try them. This mascara didn’t really have anything special to me. It just seemed like a normal mascara.
Covergirl supersizer mascara- Honestly, I only bought this because it had star wars packaging. I was really surprised by the wand the first time I used it. It was a decent mascara and surprised me.
- Would I rebuy? Probably, but I want to try different ones.
The end of 2016 is here! This year has been a such an amazing year. In 2016 I started to get serious about my blog, started my senior year of college and also started dating my boyfriend. I also had some great opportunities such as a new position at work and an internship with John McCain. I am so grateful for everything that has happened this year and can’t wait for what 2017 holds. Thank you for sticking by me as I figure out this thing called blogging. Now on to my favorite things from this month. Let me know your favorite things from this month.
E.L.F HD powder in soft luminance- I have been wanting to try this setting powder for the longest time. When I went to Target they were out of the translucent one. So I went to the NYX section to get theirs. Target was out of that powder also. I decided to just get the powder in soft luminance. There is some sparkle in it but not very noticeable. So far I’m enjoying this. This is my first true setting powder that I am using. At Target it was $6 but I can’t seem to find it on their website.
NYX HD blush in bitten- Honestly, I bought this because I saw the YouTuber Kathleenlights talk about this shade. This shade is so pretty, though! I love the way it looks on my skin. It does last a long time but not all day. It’s almost a sort of brick red color. I got it at Ulta for $7.
Urban Decay Vice lipstick Palette- This is an amazing lipstick palette that I totally recommend buying. If you want to know my full opinion on it, you can check out my last post. I got it at Ulta for $25, because of a sale, but it’s normally $35.
What I’m reading- I have been in such a mood to read Harry Potter. I also don’t own my own copies of the books. I decided to get the special covers that Barnes and Noble sells. When all the books are next to each other on the shelf the binding shows a picture.
What I’m watching- I am a YouTube addict and I have been loving a vlogger called Sarah’s Day. She talks about being healthy and shows her workouts. Her channel motivates me so much and has actually helped me make the decision to go on a Paleo diet. I would recommend checking her out.
