Smashbox Cover Shot: Smoky

Smashbox Cover Shot: Smoky

Hello, everybody! I hope your week was great and ended well. I’m going to talk about this eyeshadow palette that I have been loving! Is it just me, or have people not really been talking about the cover shot palettes? When Smashbox released these 7 palettes I expected to see a lot of reviews or hear a lot about them. To be honest, I don’t feel like they’ve been talked about really. I decided to pick one up because they’re only $30, which I personally feel is not too bad. There are 8 shadows so it’s about $3.75 per shadow. All the palettes have a moving picture cover. So the powder on the lid looks like it’s being thrown.

What really drew me to this palette was the green color, STFU.  Feature, instinct, and slayer are the matte shades in the palette. They feel creamy and aren’t very chalky. Feature definitely can get really powdery when using it but the other two don’t.  The rest of the shades are shimmery and don’t seem to have a lot of fall out. I have not got to use big night very much. Honestly, I find the colors easy to work with and they blend easily. I really would like to get some other palettes in the collection. I have not heard the best reviews about the matte palette. I think the next one I’m going to get is the ablaze palette. Let me know if you guys have tried any of the palettes in the collection and if you like it. I hope this next week is amazing for everybody and I will see you Tuesday!

Essence Soo Glow!

Essence Soo Glow!

I’ve just recently started getting really into highlighter and bronzer. I saw these two highlighters when I was in target and thought they looked really nice. They are called the Essence Soo Glow! cream to powder highlighter. Cream to powder products blow my mind every time. This highlighter comes in two shades. The first one is look on the bright side which is a champagne color. The other one is called bright up your life which is a pink rose color. I really enjoy these highlighters. If you are going to put powder on your face, you have to put these on before. These do not apply well on top of a powder. They don’t apply smoothly and the break apart. I think they can apply differently on different foundations also. Sometimes I like to apply these on bare skin if I don’t really feel like wearing makeup. I find the best way to apply them is just with my fingers. You can also really build these up if you like an intense glow. That’s really all there is to say about these. I totally recommend picking these up. They are only $3.50 at Target. Let me know if you have tried these before and what you think about them.

I’ve Actually Been Looking For This For A Year

I’ve Actually Been Looking For This For A Year

Honestly, I have actually been looking for these blotting sheets for over a year and it’s ridiculous. I saw grav3yard girl talk about these on her channel a long time ago.  I walked into Target and they had a new huge E.L.F selection. I still can’t find their beauty sponge, though. The main reason I wanted them was because of the packaging. First off, it’s a plastic case that actually snaps closed. A lot of blotting sheets have cardboard packaging that folds close. Then it starts to break and everything falls out. There is also a mirror in the lid which always comes in handy. The coolest part of these blotting sheets is the applicator sponge that comes with it. It has a sticky side that helps pick up the sheets so you don’t pick them up with your fingers. One thing that I didn’t know about these is that they’re “infused with translucent powder.” It think that’s so cool because then it kind of helps reset your makeup. These were only $5 and there isn’t much more to say about these, but I totally recommend going and buying them.

Swamp Queen

Swamp Queen

Grav3yard girl (a.k.a Bunny) is by far my favorite YouTuber. I have been watching her from the beginning and she’s actually the one who got me addicted to YouTube. I watch it more than anything. She is the most genuine person and has such a sweet personality. When she announced her collaboration with Tarte I weirdly felt like a proud parent. I knew that I was going to get this palette one way or another. This Swamp Queen palette was extremely hard to get my hands on. It was sold out everywhere and people would wait outside shops in the morning waiting for them to restock. Finally, one day I went to Sephora and they had one left in the drawer! I was so happy, I think I might have screamed a little. This is amazing and I have been reaching for it almost every time I do my makeup. It comes with a highlight, blush, bronzer, and 9 eyeshadows. I’ll show some pictures and go through each color. The swatches don’t do the colors much justice. They do look  better once applied on the eyes.

Gator wings- This is the highlight in the palette and it is very glittery. I mostly use it for inner corners and don’t like it so much on the face.

Does this thing really work?- The blush shade and it is a very nice color on the skin. There is so shimmer in this one also.

Sweet tea- This is the bronzer and I almost never use this shade. It’s too orangey for my taste but I will occasionally use it.

#SFS- This is a shimmery baby pink and I usually use this as a lid color.

Natural Peaches- This is exactly the name; a peachy color. I will use this for the crease.

Dogman- This is a copper/red and is one of my favorite colors in the set. I use this for the outer corner

Big Baby- This is a matte white shade. I don’t use it often as I don’t feel it does much for my eyes.

Sassy Bun- A shimmery gold that is great for the lid.

Sippy Sippy- This is a very unique color. It is a deep brown with yellow shimmer in it and it is also great for the outer corner.

Haunting- I want to describe this color as a lavender but it’s not quite a lavender. I guess it’s just a light purple great for the crease.

Uncommon- This looks darker in the pan but is also kind of a lightish purple that’s great for the lid.

Mancat- This is my other favorite color in the set. It’s a deep purple color and is great for the outer corner.

Let me know if you guys have tried this palette and how you like it. Also let me know if any of you have tried the lip paints that she created.

Ok… I Was Wrong

Ok… I Was Wrong

If you read my post about my lip collection you saw me talk about the Too Faced melted liquid lipsticks. I was really disappointed with them. Those lipsticks were so talked up everywhere and they did not meet my expectations. They dried my lips out and were not long lasting like they claimed. If I let them dry down for about an hour they do last a little bit longer but that means not letting anything touch my lips for that time. After buying two of them I decided that I was not going to buy anymore but…. I ended up purchasing another one the other day. This time, I bought the matte formula which is a fairly recent line that they came out with. I had heard from people that this formula was better and lasted much longer. First off, I didn’t think I was going to like the new packaging cause I honestly like the squeezy tube the other ones come in. Yup, I was wrong about that too because I actually like the new packaging. This lipstick claims to have a plumping effect which I didn’t really notice. It is also infused with avocado oil, vitamin E, and hyaluronic spheres. I looked up what hyaluronic spheres are and they are supposed to fill wrinkles and help nourish the skin. As with any product, this had some pros and cons.

Pros

  • It dries really fast- you can eat right after you’re done putting it on
  • It lasts all day- I didn’t see much fading at all throughout the day
  • Really easy to apply and very comfortable

Cons

  • It dries really fast- cleaning it up can be kind of hard
  • It can be really drying but not unbearable
  • Sometimes it gets flakey

All in all, I would totally recommend this to everyone! I bought this at Sephora for $21. I got the color Who’s Zoomin Who but I want every color. Let me know if you guys have a favorite color in this line and what other liquid lipsticks I should try.

Mid 2016 Empties

Mid 2016 Empties

When I am on YouTube I love watching empty product videos. So I thought, ” Why don’t I do something like that?” This post is all the empty products that I have finished this point in the 2016 year.

mid 2016 emptiesBiore Baking Soda Pore Cleanser

This is the liquid version of the baking soda face cleansers. I also have the powder one and I don’t really know what the difference is supposed to be between these two products. The liquid version actually really dried out my skin but the powder version hasn’t. I think this could be because the liquid version has sulfate in it. I will not be repurchasing this.

Maybelline Master Hi-Light Highlighting Bronzer

I bought this when I was first diving into the world of bronzers. It wasn’t just a straight bronzer color. It had colors of pink and highlighting colors included in it. This is really great if you don’t want to actually apply bronzer, blush, and highlight. You can just put this on with one swipe and it’s a great alternative to that. I would repurchase this product.

Ulta Matte Primer

How come nobody talks about Ulta’s line of makeup? They have some great products in their line with this being one of them. One thing that I love about this is that it has salicylic acid which is good for acne. The formula is kind of a gel formula which is something that I don’t particularly like but it makes my foundation stay on all day. I will be repurchasing this.

Ulta Amped Lashes

This mascara is supposed to give you really amped lashes which it does do. However, this product is clumpy and smudges under my eyes by the end of the day. I would not repurchase this.

Tarte Maracuja C-Brighter Eye Treatment

I got this in a set with the maracuja oil which I just featured in my favorites. This eye cream is not something that I like. First off, it is really pricey. Second of all, I did not see a difference in my eyes at all. I will not be repurchasing. Let me know if you guys have an eye cream that you like because I am on the hunt for one that really works.

Lush Tea Tree Toner Water

This is actually already a repurchase but I haven’t mentioned it in a while. This is great for keeping my oil at bay throughout the day. If you have oily skin you need to try this toner. I also love that it’s in a spray bottle so I don’t have to get out a cotton pad. I will be repurchasing again.

93,000 Miles and Whoosh Shower Jellies

I’m grouping these two products together because they’re both shower jellies but different scents. The Lush shower jellies are so much fun and everybody needs one of these in their life. Both of these scents are great and I would repurchase both. I want to try all the scents so I think I’m going to get the pine and needle scent next.

Garnier Micellar Water

Micellar water is an amazing way to remove makeup. It takes off makeup with no problem. This does leave an oily residue but I always wash my face after so I kind of ignore that. I have already repurchased this and I still love it.

Bath and Body Works Wild Apple Daffodil

There isn’t much to say about this lotion. I think everybody pretty much knows that the bath and body works lotions are pretty good lotions. Their normal lotions are all pretty much the same lotion just in different scents. I would not repurchase this scent again, though. It was pretty boring in my opinion. Their pink lemonade scent is my favorite right now.

Golden Emerald- Review

Golden Emerald- Review

I have seen so many people talk about the Loreal infallible eyeshadows so I decided to pick one up. All of the colors in the line are shimmery which is kind of disappointing. I wish there were some matte shades because I need more matte eyeshadows. The color I picked up is called golden emerald and it was 6.99 at Target. It’s a really nice deep green color with gold shimmers in it. The color is amazing and I’ve kind of fallen in love with it. Loreal claims this eyeshadow “has intense maximized color, luxurious powder-cream texture, waterproof, crease resistant, and fade resistant.” First off, this eyeshadow does have amazing pigmentation. The color is so rich. When I first touched the eyeshadow, I did notice how creamy and soft it was. I wanted to keep touching but I did not want to waste it. I have not tested if it is waterproof but it for sure does not crease or fade. One thing I did notice was quite a bit of fallout underneath my eyes. I don’t know what causes that. It could be my brush or the way I’m applying it. I did do a wet and dry swatch and the wet swatch is on the left side. There’s not much of a difference between the two, except it is a little darker when wet. I give this eyeshadow a 10 out of 10 and you should go buy some. If you wanna check out Loreal’s full-color range you can click here. Let me know if you guys have a certain color that you like so I can go buy it. Have an amazing day!
