Wow, I’ve already messed up this new post that I was so excited about. I was going to post on Saturday but this weekend got a little busy. Anyway, this last week I tested out the Wet N Wild Megaglo highlighting palette. This palette came out sometime last year but I honestly hadn’t seen it in stores ever. I found it in Ulta last week. Wet N Wild highlighters are not something that I have ever tried before so I thought this might be a good start. However, after buying it, I’ve read some reviews that say these aren’t as good as their singles. So I might have to try those as well. I tend to enjoy the colored highlight trend. I think, as long as the color is not too overwhelming, that it can look really pretty and fun. I think that I’m going to break these reviews into 3 sections. First, I will talk about the packaging. Packaging is definitely not the most important thing, but it is something that is important to me. Second, will be how it applies. Third, will be how it wears throughout the day.
I’m not the biggest fan on the packaging of this. It definitely is not great quality. However, Wet N Wild is a very affordable brand. So I think when products don’t cost as much then the packaging can lack a little. This palette is $15 so I do think they could have done a little better on the packaging for the price. E.L.F has $10 palettes that are in a better quality packaging.
This palette comes with 4 highlight colors; sweet peony (rose gold), wild cosmos (green), diamond lily (blue), and blushing azalea (pink). The most wearable are sweet peony and blushing azalea. I think those both look very nice on the skin. Wild cosmos is a little less wearable. I like colored highlights when the color is a little more subtle. I found that the green on my skin was just a little too noticeable. Diamond lily for me was in that more subtle colored highlight category. I think that I would be able to wear diamond lily more often than wild cosmos. All of the highlights are pretty glittery. I feel like most people do not like glittery highlights. I prefer non-glittery highlights but I have found some glittery ones that I’ve liked before.
All of these colors lasted throughout the day. I even took a nap on a couple of days and the highlight would still be there afterwards. I found that the glitter would tend to rub off on other things though.
My Final Thoughts
I think this a palette that I could live without. It’s not the best quality and there are other colored highlights that are better. Also, since other people have said that the singles are better, I would just stick with trying those. I think that I’m going to give this palette 3 out of 5 stars.
