Weekly Review|Wet N Wild Megaglo Palette

Weekly Review|Wet N Wild Megaglo Palette

Wow, I’ve already messed up this new post that I was so excited about. I was going to post on Saturday but this weekend got a little busy. Anyway, this last week I tested out the Wet N Wild Megaglo highlighting palette. This palette came out sometime last year but I honestly hadn’t seen it in stores ever. I found it in Ulta last week. Wet N Wild highlighters are not something that I have ever tried before so I thought this might be a good start. However, after buying it, I’ve read some reviews that say these aren’t as good as their singles. So I might have to try those as well. I tend to enjoy the colored highlight trend. I think, as long as the color is not too overwhelming, that it can look really pretty and fun. I think that I’m going to break these reviews into 3 sections. First, I will talk about the packaging. Packaging is definitely not the most important thing, but it is something that is important to me. Second, will be how it applies. Third, will be how it wears throughout the day.

I’m not the biggest fan on the packaging of this. It definitely is not great quality. However, Wet N Wild is a very affordable brand. So I think when products don’t cost as much then the packaging can lack a little. This palette is $15 so I do think they could have done a little better on the packaging for the price. E.L.F has $10 palettes that are in a better quality packaging.

The Application

This palette comes with 4 highlight colors; sweet peony (rose gold), wild cosmos (green), diamond lily (blue), and blushing azalea (pink). The most wearable are sweet peony and blushing azalea. I think those both look very nice on the skin. Wild cosmos is a little less wearable. I like colored highlights when the color is a little more subtle. I found that the green on my skin was just a little too noticeable. Diamond lily for me was in that more subtle colored highlight category. I think that I would be able to wear diamond lily more often than wild cosmos. All of the highlights are pretty glittery. I feel like most people do not like glittery highlights. I prefer non-glittery highlights but I have found some glittery ones that I’ve liked before.

All of these colors lasted throughout the day. I even took a nap on a couple of days and the highlight would still be there afterwards. I found that the glitter would tend to rub off on other things though.

My Final Thoughts

I think this a palette that I could live without. It’s not the best quality and there are other colored highlights that are better. Also, since other people have said that the singles are better, I would just stick with trying those.  I think that I’m going to give this palette 3 out of 5 stars.

This next week I will be testing the Benefit Boi-ing Concealers. I will be out of town this week so the review might come on Monday again.

5 Podcasts That I Can’t Live without

5 Podcasts That I Can’t Live without

Hello everyone! I hope everyone is having a great week. A couple of years ago I listened to my first podcast. I became obsessed! Honestly, I listen to podcasts in the car more than I listen to music. I’m constantly looking for new podcasts to listen to. I’m going to share my top 5 favorite podcasts with you.

  1. Stuff You Should Know- This was the podcast that got me hooked on podcasts. It’s run by the company ‘How Stuff Works’ and has two hosts named Josh and chuck. They choose from a wide range of subjects to discuss. Each Episode is on a different subject. Josh and Chuck are one of the few podcast hosts that actually make me laugh out loud. I’m excited for each new episode that comes out.
  2. Stuff They Don’t Want You To Know- ‘How stuff works’ also does this podcast as well but with different hosts. This is kind of on the conspiracy side of random topics. They pick certain things or events and talk about the weird parts of them. It’s not all conspiracy theories though. They just talk about lesser known things about the subjects that they talk about.
  3. Crime Junkie- I’ve just recently discovered this podcast and I listened to 22 episodes in less than a week. It’s two friends who have created the podcast and they are so good at keeping me interested. They talk about different murders and disappearances. There’s many that I haven’t heard of and some that I have. I like that these two don’t just read facts that they’ve found about the cases. They have very interesting discussions about each case.
  4. Atlanta Monster- Atlanta Monster isn’t one of those podcasts that keeps going and keeps putting out new episodes. This is a podcast about one case. There are around 24 episodes I believe and I think they’ve put out a few more. This is about the Atlanta child murders that were happening in the 70’s and 80’s. They were never really solved but the police have blamed them all on one man who was arrested for something else. It’s really interesting and I highly suggest listening to it.
  5. Popcorn- This a movie podcast run by Mitchell Davis and Jack Ferry. I was introduced to these two from Grace Helbig’s podcast and was exciting when they created this one. They choose movie’s that we all used to watch as kids and talk about them now as adults. I love the way the format it and think they are hilarious.

I really hope that you guys check out these podcasts. You can find all of these on Spotify and the Apple Podcast app. Let me know what you guy’s think of them and please suggest some podcasts to me!

My Plan for Weekly Reviews

My Plan for Weekly Reviews

I don’t know why I have such a hard time staying motivated to keep up with this blog. Recently I’ve had an idea and it has made me excited to start posting again. Every Saturday I am going to have a product review. Since I have been bad at posting I have a lot of products that I have bought but not posted about on here. Each week I want to pick a product in my collection and try to use it almost everyday that week so I can right a review about it.

One reason I thought of this idea is because I feel like I haven’t been using a lot of my makeup that I have. I will buy a new product, use it for about two weeks, and then not really use it again. So I want to start really getting into my products to see if I really like them. Also, focusing on that one product will allow me to really observe how that product performs.

Thinking of doing this has made me very excited to start posting again, even if it is just a basic review post. I’m going to figure out how I want to structure the posts. So for this first week I am going to focus on the Wet n’ Wild highlighting palette because I just bought it yesterday. So stay tuned for next Saturday for the my first weekly review.

I’m Trying Project Pan

I’m Trying Project Pan

Hi, Guys! Recently I have become obsessed with a YouTuber named Lauren Mae Beauty. Every day I watch her videos and she has a project pan series. She has called her project pan, “Finish 18 in 2018”. Watching this video inspired me to pick some products that I want to finish up. I went through my makeup and chose some items to try to finish up. I surprisingly chose more than I thought I would. I picked out 14 products, and I picked out a few from each category. So I am going to attempt to update you guys each month on my progress. I want to see how many of these products that I can finish by the end of the year. I think the lip products are going to be the hardest to use up. At the end of the year, I am going to get rid of these lip products even if they aren’t all the way used up. I chose some lip products that I’ve had for a long time but I want to use as much as possible before getting rid of them.

20180422_194130.jpg I’ve broken the products up into a couple of products per picture so that way it’s easier to see them. I’ll just go through each product in each picture.

-Too Face Chocolate Soleil bronzer- This is a sample size I got at Ulta.

-Tarte Amazonian Clay blush in Paaarty- This was part of the Sephora birthday gift last year.

-The Balm Hot Mama Blush- I actually got 2 of these in one of my ipsy bags a long time ago. I feel like these won’t take long to go through.

20180422_194302.jpg-Wet n wild megaglo contouring palette- I love this thing and am planning on repurchasing this when I finish it.

-E.L.F HD powder in soft luminance- I’ve had this powder for a while and it seems to be almost done.

-Trestique mini highlight stick in Maldives luminescent- I got this as a sample in an ipsy bag. You cant see it too well in this picture but the amount is really low.

20180422_200409.jpg-Maybelline Fit Me stick foundation- I want to find a stick foundation that I like because I think they’re really good for on the go. I don’t know if I really like this one quite yet.

-L’Oreal Infallible Pro-Glow foundation- I honestly love all the foundations in the infallible range. I’m just almost done with this one and will be repurchasing.

-Maybelline Fit Me Concealer- I really like this one and I’m almost done with it

-Wet n Wild Photofocus concealer- I think this concealer is just ok. I don’t think I’ll repurchase.

20180422_200605.jpg-Marc Jacobs lip creme in kiss kiss bang bang- This was part of the Sephora gift 2 years ago and I just want to use it up.

-NYX matte lipstick in perfect red- I have had this lipstick for so long! I just want to use up as much as possible before getting rid of it.

-Revlon Matte Balm in sultry- This is one of my favorite lip colors/products. I have had it for a while and I want to repurchase it but also use up as much of this one.

-Revlon Balm in Smitten- This is like the other one but not a matte finish.

Target Has Beauty Boxes In Store!

Target Has Beauty Boxes In Store!

Hello, everybody! I hope you all have had an amazing last couple of months. I’ve been busy with school so I disappeared for a bit like usual. Every semester I say that I will continue to post regularly, and every semester I tend to get a little too busy. Luckily I am back now and have had a few posts building up. Today I am going to talk about the new beauty boxes at Target! Target has had a monthly beauty box online for a while but now they have them in store as well. I don’t know if this is going to be a monthly thing or just a one-time thing. I hope that it sticks and they put new boxes out every month. They had 4 different boxes to choose from. Each one had a different name and seemed to have a different theme of products. I chose two different boxes, The wakeup and makeup box and the all the masks box. It does tell you one the back which products come in the box. I looked at the makeup one but decided not to look at the masks one so that I would be surprised. If this becomes a permanent thing that they do, I am going to try not to look at the contents before I buy. Each box is $7, which I think is a pretty good price for the samples you get. I actually got a few full sized products in the boxes. Let’s go through the contents of each box.
Wakeup and Makeup Box:

20180408_112932.jpg– Dove Dry Spray deodorant (full size) So far I really like this deaodorant

-Dove Dry shampoo (travel size) I’m not a big fan of Dove’s dry shampoo but I’m gonna use it

-Sonia Kashuk brush cleaning wipe (1ct) I would consider buying a pack of these

-Covergirl Peacock Flare Mascara (full size) It’s not a bad mascara but not my favorite

-Honest Beauty Makeup Wipes (15 ct) Can never go wrong with a makeup wipe

-E.L.F Blending Brush, I really like this for bronzer

-E.L.F Beautifully bare face pallete (full size) I did not like this but I’m going to give it to someone that might like it.

All the Masks Box (all full size, also I haven’t got to try all of these yet)

20180417_091402.jpg – Neutrogena Hydrating Gel Masl

-Yes to carrots and kale paper mask

-Masque Bar Luminizing charcoal peel off mask

-St. Ives soothing oatmeal mask

-Que Bella multi masking trio

Yes Please

Yes Please

Hello, everybody! I hope you all have had an amazing past couple of weeks. I have been really busy with school but I did recently finish Amy Poehler’s book “Yes Please”. Amy Poehler is one of my idols. I love her strong personality and feminism. This book is basically about her life and her career. Her writing style made me feel like I was having a conversation with a friend. It kept me interested throughout the entire book. I also loved her story of how she got into her career. Hollywood and comedy used to be a mainly male dominated kind of world. Obviously, there are always female comedians but it can be hard to really break through. It was really cool reading about her start in the comedy world and her rise. Towards the end of the book, she has a section about Parks and Rec. Parks and Rec is one of my favorite shows of all time. She had some moments in that section that actually made me laugh out loud. I’m not the kind of person to actually laugh at a book. Along with the stories she told, there was a lot of advice given. It was pretty general advice, not very life changing. It was nice to read nonetheless. I would totally recommend everyone to read this book. I think everyone will thoroughly enjoy it.

The Cleanser That Ruined My skin And The Cleanser That Saved It

The Cleanser That Ruined My skin And The Cleanser That Saved It

Hello everybody! I hope everyone has had a good week. I start school this week and I hope this semester I can keep trying to post. Last semester was very hectic and I put blogging on hold for a bit. So I’m always trying to new face cleansers. I’m still trying to find one that I want to stick to. Every once in a while I’ll find a cleanser that I really like and I’ll keep buying it. After a few months of using it my skin will change and then I need to find a new one. I recently had an experience where a face wash made my skin break really bad.

The cleanser that made me break out really bad was the Body Shop Tea Tree skin clearing facial wash. I love having tea tree in my hair products but I haven’t used it much on my face. I do like the tea tree toner from Lush. After using this face wash I kind of think that I had an allergic reaction to it. I don’t know if it was the tea tree or something else in the cleanser. My skin was so broken out and inflamed. I had no idea what was causing it so I decided to just start changing different things in my routine to figure it out. My first step was to change my face wash and I found out that is exactly what was causing my irritation.

I decided to pick up the Pacifica Kale Detox deep cleaning face wash. This face wash a miracle for my skin. I saw a huge difference in my skin overnight. There has never been another time where I have actually seen results so fast from a cleanser. After seeing that I completely stopped using the tea tree cleanser and have only been using the Pacifica one. My skin has been looking pretty nice lately. I think this is going to be a cleanser that I continue to buy.

Having the tea tree cleanser break out my skin really surprised me because I have heard great things about the Body Shop’s tea tree line. Personally, I don’t think that I’m going to try anything else in the line. Let me know what your experience is with this cleanser or any of the other tea tree products. I’m curious to see if anyone else has had the same experience as me. Well, I hope everyone has a great week and I hope your cleansers don’t break out your skin.
