Suave Moroccan Infusion Color Safe Shampoo

-It seemed to work fine for my colored hair. But I wanted it to make my hair softer and it didn’t. I would not repurchase

Harry’s Razors

-I saw these at Target and I fell in love with the packaging. Also, you can buy 4 razor blade refills for only $8. With my Venus razors I can pay like $15 for 3. So far I like the razors but I feel like the rust easy so I remove them from the shower each time. I already have repurchased.

OGX Sea Mineral Moisture Conditioner

– It kind of made my hair drier. Would not repurchase

Crest 2 Step whitening system

– I didn’t really notice a difference and just seemed like a hassle with the two parts. Would not repurchase.

Lush Love Lettuce Fresh Face Mask

-I really enjoyed this face mask. I like the way it made my face feel and I liked the exfoliant in it. I would repurchase.

Covergirl Tru Blend Primer for Combo Skin

-This didn’t really seem to work as a primer. It was just kind of a moisturizer. I did repurchase because they were on sale at Ulta. I thought I would give it another go.

Pam Coconut Cooking Oil

-I was so happy to see this in the store. It’s great that there is now coconut oil spray instead of the other oils. I did repurchase.

Pixi Glow Tonic

– There was not much of a difference in my skin with this. I also didn’t feel like $15 was worth it for this bottle. I would not repurchase.

E.L.F. Blemish Control Face Primer

-This did not help my blemishes and for some reason my makeup did not sit well on top of it.

Victoria Secret Bombshell Perfume

-I actually really enjoyed this scent. I would repurchase.

Lush Ocean Salt Body Scrub

-This is my absolute favorite thing from Lush. I love the smell of it and it does make my skin feel good. I can’t use this on my face because it’s a little too rough for me. I would repurchase.

The Balm Mad Lash Mascara

-I really liked this mascara. I have tried a high-end mascara that I liked enough to actually spend the money on but I would repurchase this.

Tarte Maracuja Oil

-I did enjoy this oil and I got another on in an ipsy. I don’t think I would repurchase because it’s a little pricey for me right now. I think I’m going to try some other oils first.

Essence Make Me Brow

-This is so great for getting brows done fast. I would repurchase.

Essence No Redness Color Correcting Concealer

-This did cover up my redness well but moved around once I put foundation on. I would not repurchase.

NYX Matte Liquid Liner

-This was a pretty good liner. I found it hard to control though. I might repurchase.

Maycoop Raw Sauce

-I still have no idea what this is supposed to do. I can honestly say that I did notice a difference in my skin when I used it. My skin looked healthier.

Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer

-This concealer disappointed me. It concealed but not that great. It also creased really bad. I’m glad I just purchased a travel size and not a full size. I would not repurchase.

Benefit Porefessional Primer

-I enjoyed this primer. My makeup sat well on top of it and it did actually help my pores look smaller. I would repurchase.

Trust Fund Beauty Gimme Good Face primer

-I did not like this primer. It made my face feel slippery and gross. I would not repurchase.

Get To Know Sariah

Get To Know Sariah

Hello, everybody! In case you didn’t know, my name is Sariah(yes that is spelled correctly). Customers at work for some reason always assume that my name is pronounced Sarah and that I’ve just spelled it wrong. Anyway, welcome to my blog, ‘My Neon Thoughts’. I use this blog to mostly talk about beauty things in my life because I have a slight passion for it. Sometimes I talk about other things on here also. Since I’ve started this blog the ‘My Neon Thoughts’ family has grown a little bit. I want to name our little family, so if you have any ideas, let me know. I have never really done a post about me, so I thought I would tell you guys about a little bit about me.

Why did I decide to start a blog?

I’m going to be really real with you guys. There was this Disney Channel movie a really long time ago about a girl who had a blog and became a famous author. Seeing that made me think that it would be really fun to have a blog. I was not really serious about it until I was in college. Watching so much YouTube made me realize what I wanted to blog about and then I started to post more frequently. Posting more frequently has made me start to love blogging and the blogging community.

What do I do outside of blogging?

I’m just a normal college kid. I go to Grand Canyon University and I’m studying Forensic Science. This next semester is my last semester with only two classes left. I also work full time at a major retail store working at the customer service desk. Even though working retail kind of sucks, I’ve learned to love it. Irrationally angry customers make my day a little better because it gives me some entertainment at work.

What are some of my goals for this year?

I definitely want to get better at this blogging thing. I want to be more creative than I have been. I’ve just been doing the same kind of posts. Monthly favorites and product reviews. I do want to start living a healthier lifestyle in general. Hopefully, I’ll get to start blogging about my fitness journey a little more. Special effects makeup is something that I have always been interested in and I want to start building up my kit.

These are just a few things that I wanted to share with you guys. If you want to know anything else just ask me. I’ll be happy to answer just about any question. Have a lovely weekend!

May Favorites|2017

May Favorites|2017

Hello, everybody! I hope you had a wonderful month. I’ve had a great time not going to school and transitioning into full-time work. I have tried a lot of new things this month and I want to share a few of the things that I am obsessed with!

20170603_114651

Sunglasses- I have no idea what brand these sunglasses are. I found them at Ross for $4 and I instantly fell in love. I feel so fierce when I wear them.

Target wallet- I have been needing a new wallet for the longest time. My previous wallet was so bulky. This is nice because it has a wrist strap so I don’t have to take my purse. My phone can even fit inside and I can clip my keys onto it. I got this for around $15.

Maybelline Fit Me Foundation- I have not tried anything in the fit me range before. I got the dewy and smooth finish because I have been very into that dewy look recently. I have combination skin and this does not make my face oily at all. This looks so nice on the skin and I don’t even feel the need to set it. The foundation still looks good at the end of the day. I bought this at Target in the shade Ivory for $6.

Garnier Fructis Damage Eraser Conditioner- My main shampoo and conditioner for my hair is the Yes to Tea Tree and Sage Oil for my dry scalp. I don’t like to use that conditioner throughout my hair because it can dry out my hair. So I use the tea tree one on my scalp and this one throughout the rest of my hair. This makes my hair shiny and soft. My hair is very damaged and I have been loving this! I got this at Target for $5.

Pacifica Cactus Water Makeup Wipes- I’ve recently got into using makeup wipes again so I’ve been trying all different kinds. These smell so good and are very soft! I also got these at Target for $6. (Can you tell I love Target?)

Too Faced Sweet Peach Lipgloss

Too Faced Sweet Peach Lipgloss

Hello, Everybody! I’m pretty late to this sweet peach party but figured I would give my opinion on the lipglosses anyway. I decided to buy two colors. I bought pure peach and papa don’t peach. Pure peach is the kind of color you think of when you think of peach. Papa don’t peach is more of a nude peach. These glosses are infused with peach oil, coconut oil, and vitamins. They are meant to be really hydrating on the lips. I haven’t noticed a hydrating factor so much. I like that these glosses are not really sticky and once they set down they are not sticky at all. I also really like how pigmented they are. It’s not just a boring, barely there color. I think these are great lipglosses and totally worth the money. The monotone packaging is so satisfying to me for some reason. I would like to eventually own all the colors. I bought these at Sephora for $19. Let me know if you guys have tried these and what colors you like! Sorry this is a short post but I don’t know what more to say about them.

Life Update

Life Update

I have not posted in so long! Life got kind of crazy this past month and I just needed to focus on all of that instead of stressing about getting a blog up. First, new thing in my life is that I finished the semester. I did well on all my finals and am satisfied with all my grades. Only two more classes and then I’m done with my bachelor’s degree in forensic science. Seeing all my friends graduate this past month has made me so excited to graduate in the fall. Next thing that has happened is that I moved! I have been living on my college campus the whole time I’ve been in college. I usually go home for the summer but last summer I stayed. I have officially moved into an off-campus apartment with one of my best friends. Moving was kind of crazy but I’m pretty much all settled in now. The last thing that happened is that I’ve started is working full time. My current job offered me a full-time position which was perfect timing. It’s been a little tough just because My hours suddenly doubled and I’m not used to that. Hopefully this Saturday I will start posting normally again. I’m excited for this summer and all my goals.

Recent Lip Purchases| 2017

Hello, everybody! I hope your week thus far is amazing! Lipstick is one of my favorite makeup products and I wanted to share some that I’ve bought recently. I’ve been using all these products for a while so I’ll give you guys a mini review of each. Let me know if you have tried any of these products and which ones you like. Also, make sure to give me some suggestions of new products to try.

swatches are in same order as lipsticks above

Bite Beauty-The perfect pair Amuse Bouche lipstick: These two bite beauty lipsticks came in a duo set. The first shade is called Thistle which is a purple taupe color. The one next to it is rhubarb which is a nice rose color. I really enjoy both these lipsticks. They sit nice on the lips and the colors are nice. I also enjoy the minty smell they have. I got this mini pair at Sephora for $15. There is another mini duo in the shades meringue and fig.

Lime Crime velvetine in faded: I have always wanted to try the lime crime velvetines but have heard bad things about ordering off their website. Lime crime ended up going on sale on Hautelook. If you don’t know what Hautelook is, it’s a Nordstrom-owned website that has flash sales. The velvetines were only $10 so I figure I could get one. I’m honestly a little disappointed, The first time I wore it, it was very sticky and a little patchy. I also feel like mine came not full. I would totally try another one but I’m gonna wait for them to come back on HauteLook. The shaded faded is very similar to Bite beauty in thistle. It’s not on HauteLook right now but you can still check this out on Lime Crime’s website.

Wet and Wild Liquid Catsuit in Pink Really Hard: I have heard amazing things about these liquid lipsticks! For some reason, I was really drawn to this bright pink color, which is not like me. I have to say that they hype is true with these. They feel nice on the lips and last a reasonable amount of time. It is a little patchy but could just be this color. I got this at Target for $4.99

E.L.F. gel lip stain in dewy berry- This lip stain is part of their aqua line and I love the blue lid. This lip stain is infused with rose water and vitamin E. So it should be really hydrating on the lips. I feel like this is actually pretty drying. But if you put some chapstick on throughout the day, it’s not too bad. The color is really nice for every day. I definitely want to get some more of these. I got this at Target for $3.99.

Too Faced Sweet Peach lipgloss in pure peach- I have wanted to try these for so long! For some reason, I am very drawn towards the mono color packaging. I used to hate lipgloss but wanted to try some better lipglosses. After trying these, I want to try more lipglosses. This is not very stick and is actually really hydrating. The color is really nice also. I dig the fake peach smell but other people may not like it. I really want the color, papa don’t peach. I got this at Sephora for $19.

Don’t forget to let me know if you’ve tried any of these. Also if you guys have any color suggestions for Lime Crime, let me know. Have a great week and I will see you Saturday!

Smashbox Cover Shot: Smoky

Smashbox Cover Shot: Smoky

Hello, everybody! I hope your week was great and ended well. I’m going to talk about this eyeshadow palette that I have been loving! Is it just me, or have people not really been talking about the cover shot palettes? When Smashbox released these 7 palettes I expected to see a lot of reviews or hear a lot about them. To be honest, I don’t feel like they’ve been talked about really. I decided to pick one up because they’re only $30, which I personally feel is not too bad. There are 8 shadows so it’s about $3.75 per shadow. All the palettes have a moving picture cover. So the powder on the lid looks like it’s being thrown.

What really drew me to this palette was the green color, STFU.  Feature, instinct, and slayer are the matte shades in the palette. They feel creamy and aren’t very chalky. Feature definitely can get really powdery when using it but the other two don’t.  The rest of the shades are shimmery and don’t seem to have a lot of fall out. I have not got to use big night very much. Honestly, I find the colors easy to work with and they blend easily. I really would like to get some other palettes in the collection. I have not heard the best reviews about the matte palette. I think the next one I’m going to get is the ablaze palette. Let me know if you guys have tried any of the palettes in the collection and if you like it. I hope this next week is amazing for everybody and I will see you Tuesday!
